Most property is Freehold although a significant proportion is Leasehold meaning it is leased for a set period of time rather than being owned outright. Commonhold is a new form of tenure and is currently quite rare. If you are unsure of your property’s tenure we will of course confirm this once we start creating your HIP, however, you can also check it yourself using the www.landregistry.gov.uk/ website.
